Throughout the day:
- Learn Finnish in the Museum — picture cards for learning words related to old everyday objects.’
- Exhibition information available in different languages
- A self-guided tour designed for children, following the character Leevi Leppälintu, is available in the courtyard.
- Visitors can try out old-fashioned games and activities in the courtyard, such as mölkky and walking on stilts.
- Summer exhibitions in the granaries: Leena Hassi — Colourfully Crafted and Kaisa Törmänen — FLOWERS, FLOWERS!
- Café Mandariini is open
- Matti Mattson’s Recycled Art workshop
At the Kuopio Block Museum you can stroll through the wooden town Kuopio of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, visit Minna Canth’s salon and an early 20th-century pharmacy, and enjoy the changing seasons in a traditional courtyard setting. The area also features a temporary exhibition space, currently hosting Stories of Houses — In the Footsteps of a Wooden Town, as well as Matti Mattsson’s Recycled Art workshop.
